EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (EXECO) MTG

The Executive Committee (EXECO) members met on Thursday 30th June, 2024 at the Assembly’s auditorium to discuss issues emanating from the various sub-committee meetings. These include Planning, Finance and Administration, Works, Justice and Security, Social Services, Agric, Environment and Sanitation as well as Tourism Sub-Committees who vividly discussed decisions and measures put in place to facilitate development within the municipality.

Per the local governance Act 2016, Act 936 Section 19, stated that Executive Committee (EXECO) of District Assembly shall be established to be responsible for the performance of the executive functions of the District Assembly.

However, an EXECO shall consist of (a) the District Chief Executive as chairperson. (b) the chairpersons of the of the following five Sub-Committees of Executive Committee. These include: Development Planning, Social Services, Works, Justice and Security, and Finance and Administration. (c) the chairperson of one ad hoc Sub-Committee of Executive Committee elected by the District Assembly. (d) Any two other members elected by members of the District Assembly, at least one of whom is a woman.
