AKUAPEM NORTH OBSERVES 68TH INDECE CELEBRATION ...

The Akuapem North Municipal Assembly (ANMA) has observed the 68th independence anniversary celebration with a call on Ghanaians to unite and build a better Ghana together. In an address delivered by Alhaji Shamrock Abdulai Gafaru, Municipal Coordinating Director of, he said independence is not just about freedom but about responsibility. He said it is about using our freedom to build a better country for ourselves and future generations. According to him, Ghana’s future does not depend only on government adding that we must all play our roles efficiently and effectively in building our nation. He indicated that as citizens we must always conceive an idea of what to do for our nation and not the other way round. Alhaji Gafaru said while our leaders are making giant effort to create jobs and improve education, young citizens must also be ready to study hard, work and be creative.

The event which was on the theme, “reflect, review and reset “was held at the Presbyterian college of Education Park, Akropong – Akuapem. “Every great nation is built by hardworking citizens who take action instead of complaining”, he said. Independence, he said, is not just a celebration but a duty to work hard and make Ghana a land of opportunities for everyone. He admonished all citizens to be disciplined, honest and determined to make Ghana a great nation. Participating schools and individuals who distinguished themselves at the parade received various awards for their outstanding performance.
